About us

ACE National Network Inc (formerly the Association of Competitive Employment and known as ACE) is the peak body for Australia's Disability Employment Network (DEN). DEN members are specialists in finding employment for people with disabilities. Read more about the DEN.

ACE exists to:

  • represent the interests of members at a national level;
  • identify opportunities to get a better deal for people with disabilities participating in the workforce;
  • educate employers and the public about issues of disability employment.

ACE represents the interests of service providers to government and other stakeholders. We advise, lobby, advocate, provide training, information, events and promote the range of services delivered by the Disability Employment Network.

ACE members deliver specialist employment assistance across almost every region in every state and territory in the country. Members are passionate about finding clients real work for real wages and conditions alongside workers without a disability. This passion is underpinned by 12 Disability Service Standards which define the Government's requirements for service quality and are designed to directly link to each service's core processes and outcomes.

ACE members want access to the right mix of funding and infrastructure to support their ?tried and tested' service models, including a fair system of contract management for service providers.

ACE runs a tight ship. It is managed by a voluntary national board comprising 12 representatives. Each board member manages a Disability Employment Network service, in addition to their work for ACE. This ensures that each board member has 'hands on' knowledge of the sector and is aware of how various government policies and initiatives may impact upon ACE members and their service users.

Day to day operational work is carried out by a full-time paid chief executive officer Lucy Macali, industry development officer Pauline Disseldorp and office manager Catherine Fuller.
