Keith Mahar is a social worker and human rights activist in Canberra who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1996. He has been active in local, national and international mental health initiatives, while also being a precedent-setting public interest litigant in Canada as a result of his political activism (Mahar v Rogers Cablesystems Ltd.).
Keith made a presentation on his own recovery at the World Psychiatric Association International Congress in 2007 and is creator of www.mentalympians.org: described by the Mental Health Council of Australia as a world-first website and a "creative approach to promoting awareness of recovery."
