About the Disability Employment Network

The Disability Employment Network (DEN) aims to assist jobseekers with disability prepare for, find and keep work. The network is made up of just over 240 organisations - large and small; non profit and private sector - which are funded by the Australian government through the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

The Disability Employment Network is proud to support approximately 55,000 Australians with disability each year. DEN providers do this by connecting jobseekers to the right job for them, preparing both the workplace and jobseeker for employment and offering ongoing support to ensure success in the long term. All work secured by the Disability Employment Network is in the 'open' labour market and paid at standard rates.

Jobseekers can be referred to DEN if they:

  • have a permanent (or likely to be permanent) disability;
  • have a reduced capacity for communication, learning or mobility;
  • require support for more than six months after placement in employment;
  • require specialist assistance to build capacity in order to share in the financial, social and personal benefits that employment offers.

Jobseekers must be of working age. Their disability may be of an intellectual, psychiatric, physical or sensory nature.

There are ACE members right around the country ready, willing and very able to assist you. Find your local Disability Employment Network provider.
